About CARTS Outreach
Our Organization
CARTS is an interdenominational, volunteer-driven, federally registered charity. CARTS began in 2002 and was formally incorporated as a charity in 2003. Our founders have a long history of ministering to those on the streets of Victoria. Members of a variety of helping organizations have recognized the work of CARTS Outreach.
Our Mission
Our mission is to feed, embrace, and inspire others with the Spirit of God.
We believe that everyone deserves to be fed, embraced, and treated with dignity and non-judgmental respect. Our passion is to reach out to others in love and with compassion, following in the footsteps of Jesus and by His example.
CARTS Outreach aims to help homeless people by listening, providing a meal, a drink, and some clothes if needed.
Our Spirit
CARTS stands for “Christian Actions Reflecting The Spirit". Many CARTS volunteers are Christians, and we believe that helping others is a good way of expressing our faith. We start and close our evening with prayer which is open to anyone who wishes to join in, and we pray with anyone if they request it.
Although the founders' motivation is Christian, there is no requirement that volunteers or clients share this faith. In our outreach work, help is freely given based simply on need.
